MIAMI – Carlos Albizu University (CAU) will soon make public plans to launch the first CAU Brick Campaign as part of a five year-Capital Campaign recently approved by the Board of Trustees of Carlos Albizu University. The multi-year fundraising campaign is aimed at improving and expanding the physical facilities and reigniting the Annual Institutional Endowment Fund.

The University is excited about the opportunity of offering members and friends of CAU the chance to purchase a personalized engraved brick that will be placed in the University's main entrance walkway. This is an area used by the entire Miami Campus community, the adjacenBrick Pathwayt Doral Academy Charter School community, and visitors.

In recognition of a gift to the University, CAU will engrave the donor's name and personalized message on a brick that will become a permanent part of the CAU exterior entrance walkway. The brick may be personalized with a name, a quote, a special date, or the name of a class, company, club, etc. It will also be a great opportunity to congratulate a recent graduate, honor a loved one, or celebrate an accomplishment. Bricks will be available in 4x8 and 8x8 inch sizes and will be priced at $250 and $400 respectively.

More than half of the proceeds of the Brick Campaign will go toward the newly established CAU Alumni Scholarship Fund, which will provide annual financial assistance to select students. These recipients will be students in financial need, in good academic standing. "These scholarships will assist students in attaining their goals for a higher education and help them realize new ambitions for their future,” said Dr. Carmen S. Roca, Chancellor of the Miami Campus. Adds Marco Bouwer, Development Officer for Alumni Affairs: "Our graduates, whether from CAU or the former Miami Institute of Psychology, have spent many years at this institution and have strong bonds with their Alma Mater. Here they gained their knowledge, here is where they were formed as psychologists, businesspeople, and educators. This is where many were given the opportunity to launch successful careers. The Brick Campaign is an opportunity for them to give back and be remembered for it.”

Anyone interested in purchasing a brick may visit the Brick Campaign webpage on the CAU Alumni & Student Website or contact the Development Office for more information at 305-593-1223 x210 or mbouwer@albizu.edu.

Contributions made to the CAU Alumni Scholarship Fund are tax deductible to the maximum allowable by law.
