Seth D. Grossman Dr. Grossman has published extensively with Dr. Millon, the personality theorist. Lorenzo Diaz is a current student who works for Carnival Cruise Lines. Edgar N. Arbaje has been a member of the CAU family since 2002. He is currently working on his PsyD. Dayana V. Narvaez is currently enrolled in the Masters in Psychology program. She recently gave birth to a baby boy. Tatiana Escandon is currently working on her Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling at CAU and is enjoying it! George Zaky is a licensed Mental Health Counselor. He is married and lives in South-Florida.

CAU Alumnus Appointed to Fulbright Senior Specialist Roster NEW YORK - Leo J. Shea III, Ph.D. ('95) has recently been appointed as a candidate on the Fulbright Senior Specialist for Mental Health Roster. The roster is a list of all approved candidates eligible to be matched with incoming program requests from overseas academic institutions for Fulbright Senior Specialist.
An addition big honor was recently bestowed on the CAU graduate when he was invited by the Center for Deployment Psychology (CDP) of The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Washington, D.C. to participate in a two-week program held at the National Naval Medical Center – Bethesda and Walter Reed Army Medical Center. CAU Student Becomes a Fellow at Yale Clemente Vega, a doctoral student in CAU’s neuropsychology concentration, recently accepted a pediatric neuropsychology post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Neurosurgery at Yale University School of Medicine. Mr. Vega recently defended his dissertation, and he will soon complete his internship at Miami Children’s Hospital. Mr. Vega’s post-doctoral fellowship will be completed in the Yale Epilepsy Program, which is composed of a multi-disciplinary team of physicians who provide services to children and adults who require seizure localization and management, as well as pre-and post surgical evaluations. "More of the Same, Please," at Continuing Education Workshop
MIAMI - The response to the recently hosted Continuing Education Workshop has been overwhelmingly positive, judging by the attendance and responses of alumni, students and friends of the University. The activity was hosted by the Carlos Albizu University (CAU) Alumni Association on Friday, February 22nd, 2008. The workshop/reunion included four seminars aimed at satisfying the licensure requirements of licensed psychologists and mental health professionals. Update on the Medical Errors Seminar: CAU have applied to the appropriate Florida governing bodies to host the seminar - Medical Error Reduction for Psychologists - on Friday, April 25, 2008 at the Miami Campus, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m. Please remember that this is only a proposed date, as the school is awaiting final approval. Confirmation of the date will be send out as soon as possible. Please check back regularly to the Alumni and Student Website for the announcement. Additionally, as promised, alumni and friends who attended the February 22nd - Workshop can attend the seminar in April free of charge. Otherwise, the charge is $50 for CAU alumni and $75 for other interested parties. |

CAU Doctoral Student Wins NAN Award Congratulations to CAU Doctoral Student, Jennifer Harms, who won an award for her poster presentation at the National Academy of Neuropsychology Conference. The Conference was held in Scottsdale, Arizona at the end of 2007. Her findings were titled Late Language Bilinguals Outperform Monolinguals on the Stroop Test. Harm's poster was voted best in the category relating to Hispanic Issues. |

Faculty Member Elected as Vice-Chairman: Congratulations to Dr. Edward Heyden, Practicum Coordinator and faculty member in the CAU Masters Program, who has recently been elected as the Vice-Chair of the Commission on Forensic Education's (COFE) Marketing Committee.
COFE was formed due to the phenomenal interest in forensic education over the past five years. The organization forms part of the American College of Forensic Examiners Institute of Forensic Science and promotes the growth and emphasizes of the importance of forensic science programs in education. Membership is free to educators at both the post-secondary and secondary education level. |
